BE PART OF AFRICAT’S ANNUAL HEALTH AND DENTAL CHECK.
Each year, the AfriCat Team including our supporting Veterinarian Dr. Mark Jago, successfully undertake a Health Check on the resident cheetah, leopard and wild dog at our Carnivore Care Centre based on Okonjima. The organising and planning is already underway for this years Annual Health and Dental Check. This yearly event that usually takes place in June / July has grown over the years and now runs for 10 days.
During these few important days the veterinarians keep the whole operation running smoothly – by adeptly anaesthetising nervous individuals, thoroughly examining each carnivore whilst administering a drip preventing dehydration, and keenly offering information to the enthusiastic visitor who may have come to AfriCat specially for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, to see one of the Big Cats close enough to touch!
If your planning your holiday and will be visiting Okonjima between the 30th June and the 10th July 2014, why not become a volunteer and have a holiday with a difference!
This year AfriCat is offering 2 EXCLUSIVE ‘BEHIND-THE-SCENES’ / HANDS-ON, VOLUNTEER-SAFARIS TO OKONJIMA.
STEPPES DISCOVERY UK, & ULTIMATE SAFARIS NAMIBIA, ARE THE MAIN AFRICAT ANNUAL HEALTH-CHECK SPONSORS and have long been admirers of AfriCat’s innovative approach towards the conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores; “We have been impressed with their ability to adapt as the demands of conservation change and commend their commitment to using responsible tourism as an essential tool in protecting Namibia’s big cats.
